Peace, Man by Eddie Shot John

Written by Ronald Allen Bell~

Produced by G-Dawg Trading~

Modified version of a poem called, "I Spoke of Peace" from the book, Broken Reflection by the same author~

Lyrics:

I told the man sitting next to me
that peace the world could one day see

he turned and smiled, didn't have any teeth,
gummed, "good luck, son. Wake from your dream."

He went on a rant, a little verbal tirade
He spit and he yelled, flailed his arms and explained,
"This world's too consumed by fame and green,
to just trade its crooked smile for new pearly white teeth

I said in part I do agree,
but when push comes to shove, love is all you need.
Take up your anger, let out all the hate,
see yourself from danger, before it's all too late .

I guess I must have scared him
He ran away so fast
but the fear it would subside
and the man he would come back

He went on a rant, a little verbal tirade
He screamed and he cried, teary eyed, soul in pain
"This world's too divided by the rich and the poor,
make us all equal then we'll have peace for sure

I said I must just disagree,
when push comes to shove, love is all you need.
Take up your opinion, put it in a sack,
take the sack to work, when you're done bring it back

We all have a station.
Position in this life
excuses you are making
using others for your strife

Nobody is stopping you
it's just not how it works
nobody gonna hand you
all you need with all the perks

some men they are just smarter
and others oh, so strong
some captains that may charter
ships to Spain and then Hong Kong

go and find your station
position in this life
stop making excuses
using others for your strife

He went on a rant, a little verbal tirade
He screamed and he cried, why, sir why would you say!
That this world's what you make it, makes me just want to scream!
So you must never say it, goodbye, now I must sleep.
